Judith Neilson

Judith Neilson is a much loved and renowned Australian philanthropist and visionary art collector, best known for founding Sydney’s White Rabbit Gallery in 2009 to showcase her vast collection of Chinese contemporary art—more than 2,500 works by almost 700 artists created since 2000.

Beyond East Asian visual culture, she also embraces automotive icons as art. In 2021 Judith famously acquired a pristine 1971 Ford Falcon XY GTHO Phase III—viewed less as a muscle‑car and more as sculptural expression

This blend of traditional and automotive art reflects her belief that beauty and craftsmanship transcend formats—whether a canvas or chrome. On display from her personal collection will be several pieces including the world famous “wire car”
